Elaine C. Nettis is a native Philadelphia artist. She is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and has exhibited nationally and internationally. Her work is in the permanent collection of the National Museum of Women in the Art, Washington DC and in the Free Library of the City of Philadelphia, Northeast Regional Branch, as well as in numerous public corporate and private collections. She has also been the recipient of a Philadelphia Board of Education Art scholarship and has won many prizes and awards. Nettis was affiliated with the Cheltenham Center for the Arts and served on their Board of Governors. She is a member of the Fellowship of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Artists Equity Association, Assemblage Artists Group and Artist's Conference Network.
Nettis's paintings are expressionistic, with a strong feeling for human concerns, and a sense of social consciousness. She also writes poetry, and has incorporated some of them in her artwork.
