Marion Spirn

In my paintings I seek to convey the vigor and exuberance, as well as the serenity, that I find in nature. Using beeswax, acrylic and oil paints, paint stick, pigments, and collage, I modify and manipulate the territory between the real and the abstract. The landscapes in where I work and live, in both Minnesota and Southern California, provide me endless sources of inspiration.

I have shown my work in Belgium and China, New York City, Chicago, and in Philadelphia and the surrounding area., I have exhibited my paintings in many solo and group shows in both private and public venues. My paintings are in the collections of the Noyes Museum, LaSalle University Museum, Rutgers University, colleges in NJ and NY, and the National Women's Museum of Art.
